Get lots of target practice and learn the etiquette and safety rules for all projectiles.  Advanced Archery is for older, serious archers who have previously completed an archery class.  This class provides extended target time to practice consistent, accurate shooting skills.

BUTTERFLIES UP CLOSE
Campers will learn just how special butterflies are as we learn to identify caterpillars and butterflies; learn about life cycles, observe real butterflies, and plant your own mini butterfly garden to take home.

COLOR and SOUND
Nature provides a rich source of color and sound to enjoy.  Make musical instruments, dance, sing, paint, and experiment with light.  This camp for our youngest campers includes time for free play and age appropriate games    and art.

CRAZY WORLD OF SCIENCE
Scientists wonder "Why?" and “What if?” That makes you a scientist!! Out camp scientists will have fun asking questions AND predicting , mixing, melting, squirting, exploding, observing, counting and comparing as we do hands on experiments as well as explore our natural surroundings.  Every curious camper is sure to have a super time exploring varied STEM activities!

ERIC CARLE BUGS
Enjoy the stories of Eric Carle and spend the week exploring the woods, fields, and ponds for an up close look into the world of bugs.  We’ll make bug-themed crafts and play fun games as we celebrate these fascinating critters.

ESCAPE ROOM/TREASURE TRAILS
Work with your team to discover clues, solve puzzles, and investigate mysteries in this new twist on summer camp.  We will "escape" rooms, follow clues on treasure trails, and learn what makes a good mystery.  Bring your ideas and create and escape room experience for us all to solve. Lots of role playing and mysterious fun will be had.

FAIRIES & ELVES IN THE WOODS
We’ll look for Fairies and Elves and learn their characteristics and how they help care for the plants and critters in the woods.  We’ll build fairy houses, look for treasures, play games, and create fairy gardens to take home.

FANCY NANCY GOES GLAMPING
Fancy Nancy loves everything shimmery, shiny, or sparkly.  She also loves ribbons, tea parties, lavender and anything French.  She loves bugs and flowers and knows how to find all the beautiful things in Nature. We will look extraordinarily spectacular as we explore outdoors with our Fancy gear & journal.

50 DANGEROUS THINGS
Inspired by the book, "50 Dangerous Things (You Should Let Your Children Do," we hope to remember that climbing trees is good for the soul, and that a pocket knife is not a weapon.  Full of exciting ways children can explore the world around them, we will learn to "play with fire" and "taste electricity" while learning about safety and much, much more.

FISHING ADVENTURE
Spend time fishing as well as exploring in the woods and trying some archery. Experiment with different bait to catch catfish, brim and bluegill. Learn about fish body parts, habitats, and those in North Carolina fresh water. We will taste different kinds of fish cooked over a campfire.

FROG AND TOAD
Everyone loves Frog and Toad. We will recreate their world and act out their stories. They will teach us about being a great friend as we head into a new school year.  We will sing all the frog songs we know.  We will look for and learn the difference between real frogs and toads too.

GEOCACHING
Join us as we explore this interactive outdoor game.  We will use GPS coordinates and maps to hunt for Caches and "treasures." We will learn map reading, map making, and have opportunities to hide your own cache for your camp friends to find.

IN THESE TREES
Not only will we identify and learn about trees and find uses for different parts, but we will learn about the birds, squirrels, and other critters who call them home.  Learn all about the birds in this area, along with how to be a citizen scientist and participate in Bird Counts, and how to provide appropriate habitat and food for different kinds of living things.

MR. MACGREGOR'S GARDEN
We will dig in the dirt to plant, plant seeds, and create garden accessories.  We will also read stories by Beatrix Potter and learn about the plants and critters in Mr. MacGregor's garden.  This gardening experience for the youngest of campers will provide free play and age-appropriate games and activities.

NATURE ART
Nature provides inspiration for all kinds of creative art.  We will use nature items such as pine cones, sticks and leaves to create art, but also look to the sky and plants for inspiration using traditional art medium. We will learn nature sketching techniques for nature journaling.

OFF TO NEVERLAND
Join Peter Pan and the Darling children in the adventures of Fairies, Mermaids, Pirates, Injuns, and the Lost Boys on this adventure of Never-Growing Up. Watch out for Crocs!

OOEY. GOOEY, MESSY PLAY
Engage in all kinds of sensory, muddy and wet fun during this camp that will delight every child!  We’ll mix up all kinds of concoctions using and making up our own recipes!  Come ready to get wet and dirty!

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Campers will learn several skills required to survive in the wilderness or just plain have fun in the woods.  We will mix camping skills and survival activities.  We will cook over the campfire, try a little fishing and archery, and learn first aid.

OUTDOOR COOKING
Plan on building a fire every day and learning techniques of foil, dutch oven, stick and 1-pot cooking.  Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables by selecting, foraging, or harvesting.  Be prepared to experiment with new tastes.  No Allergies or special diets, please.

WESTWARD HO!
What would it have been like if your family packed everything in a wagon and headed West to settle or look for gold? We’ll learn about navigating, cooking over a fire, playing simple, old fashioned games and some of the dangers of the early settlers in the West.
